2016 Ford Focus vs 2016 Nissan Versa
The compact car segment is extremely popular with American drivers, especially younger ones. There has been one vehicle dominating this segment since the late 1990s, and that is the Ford Focus model. The Ford Focus was actually the best-selling vehicle in the world at one point in time. Ford continues to be progressive and innovative with the Focus every single year, and the fan base continues to grow larger as a result. Ford has added some exciting new changes for the 2016 model year that will surely help it stand out in the competitive field of compact cars.
There are very few vehicles in the world that can even come close to comparing to the quality and reputation of the Ford Focus. However, one of the vehicles that is able to give the Focus a run for its money is Nissan’s Versa model. The Nissan Versa is popular for offering incredible value for a low price tag. However, we truly believe that the Focus is the better vehicle in the 2016 model year, and we are going to prove it by matching these two great vehicles up against each other in our 2016 Ford Focus vs 2016 Nissan Versa comparison review.
2016 Ford Focus: Snappy and Fun
When we matched up the new 2016 Ford Focus against the 2016 Nissan Versa we found that the only area where the Versa was able to beat out the Focus was with its price tag. Otherwise, the Ford Focus was superior in just about every other category that we looked at.
One of the most obvious ways that the new 2016 Ford Focus is superior to the 2016 Nissan Versa is with its great performance characteristics. The new 2016 Ford Focus comes standard with a 1.6L I-4 engine that is able to produce an outstanding 146 horsepower with 160 pound-feet of torque. On the other hand, the 2016 Nissan Versa is very underpowered in comparison to the Focus. The Versa is only able to produce 107 horsepower with 109 pound-feet of torque. The Versa has some of the most lackluster performance characteristics in the segment. Also, even though the Focus boasts so much better performance than the Versa, it still has a fuel economy rating that is on par with it. Therefore, drivers who choose the Ford Focus will get the perfect combination of performance and fuel economy.
Another way that the new 2016 Ford Focus is superior to the 2016 Nissan Versa is with its long list of standard and available features. The Focus is offered with exciting technology such as: SYNC 3 Infotainment, rear view camera, push-button start, Active Park Assist and much more. The 2016 Nissan Versa does not even come close to matching the number of innovative features that are offered with the Focus.
Finally, the Ford Focus offers the most personalization options in its class. Drivers can choose between everything from the base version of the car, to the ultra high-performance RS model and everything in between. The Nissan Versa does not offer nearly as many personalization options as the Focus does for the 2016 model year.
